Matthew is a Private Wealth Adviser in the Melbourne office for Shadforth Financial Group.

Matthew is driven by a genuine passion to help more Australians achieve their financial and lifestyle objectives. His accounting background allows him to provide clients with the best possible integrated advice as part of his strategic approach.

He partners with a range of individuals including:

Matthew’s areas of expertise include goals-based investing, cashflow planning, superannuation, retirement planning and intergenerational planning.

Education and experience

Matthew holds the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from RMIT.
• Certified Financial Planner ® practitioner designation.
• Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
• FASEA accreditation.

Matthew in his own words

From a young age I had a yearning to help others and progressing into financial services was a logical pathway.

Whilst studying, I was provided with the opportunity to work at an accounting firm as part of my ‘sandwich year’. I was exposed to a number of different client scenarios and built a strong knowledge base in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, tax planning and business structures.

These foundations helped me in my pursuit to help others and provided the perfect platform to progress into financial advice. I was also exposed to a number of different strategies to help my own family and friends, plus others in my community. I knew then that financial planning was my dream profession.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Matthew is an avid AFL (Richmond) supporter, loves fishing and enjoys his sporting pursuits, including tennis and golf. He is also very family oriented and loves spending time with them.
