About Alister
Alister is a Private Wealth Adviser working from both the Launceston and Devonport offices of the Shadforth Financial Group.
Education and experience
Alister believes a deep commitment to financial education is a fundamental requirement to provide high level financial advice.
He is a graduate of the University of Tasmania, holds an MBA from the University of Sydney, a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin, and a graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA). He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner and is a member of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA).
Early in his career, Alister built his experience with several major Australian and international funds managers. He has held board and trustee appointments on community, educational, and industry-based bodies and, as a Principal Wealth Adviser, leads an Advice Team at Shadforth.
Alister specialises in providing financial planning and investment advice for private clients, charities, and foundations, advising on both managed investments and securities listed on the ASX and has, for many years, provided commentary on markets and investment related matters on ABC radio.
He has a particular focus on demystifying wealth management through straightforward conversations, bringing sound governance principles to investment decision making, and applying proven, evidence-based strategies.
He enjoys helping people who recognise that the best financial advice is the result of expertise, great depth of resources and partnering with a highly experienced and caring professional to bring your vision into reality, and to inspire confidence in your future.
Outside of work
Away from work, Alister is involved in the arts, enjoys bushwalking, cycling, gardening, judo, enjoying Tasmania’s magnificent built and natural heritage and keeping a close eye on what’s going on in the world.
