Joey in his own words
I have always seen money as a tool to fund lifestyle aspirations, rather than something you accumulate with no end goal. Perhaps this is why a career in financial advice has always appealed to me. As important as it is to be a trusted expert in technical fields such as investment markets, tax and the ever-changing legislative environment; I find that what most people don’t immediately understand about financial advice is how the technical integrates with ‘real life’.
Using Shadforth’s evidence-based investment philosophy and sophisticated cashflow modelling, I help my clients make informed decisions which align with their personal values and lifestyle goals. Together we design a financial plan and strategy that not only makes sense on paper but has their fingerprints over it.
Clients I work with...
The types of clients that I enjoy working with are professionals, business owners & medical specialists who need to solve problems such as:
- Individuals and families who are time poor and do not have the capacity, or interest, to manage their finances day to day but wish to work in conjunction with a specialist to obtain the best outcome for them and their family and have peace of mind that they are on track to achieve their goals.
- Aspirational people who need help to understand and prioritise their goals and then to put some structure around utilising their cash flow and assets in the most efficient manner to build wealth.
- Young families who are going through significant life events such as purchasing a home or having children and need to put a contingency plan in place to protect their partners and children.
- Families who are transitioning to a new phase in life, such as kids finishing school and ‘leaving the nest’ and helping the parents navigate retirement planning, adjusting through this change and putting in place a plan to have a fulfilling ‘post-work’ period.
- People who are going through a major life event such as, receiving an inheritance, a marriage breakdown, insurance claim or business sale and wish to seek guidance on what their ‘new normal’ could look like and putting in place a strategy to achieve this.
